On November 7, 2024, IDEC GROUP IBERICA organized a day of exchange in Antequera, where the main players in port, rail and public sector logistics met to learn about the progress of Puerto Seco de Antequera an ambitious project promoted by IDEC GROUP IBERICA.
A CONSTRUCTIVE MEETING IN ANTEQUERA
The day began with a breakfast at the Antequera town museum, attended by personalities such as Manuel Barón (Mayor of Antequera), Juan José Sibina (Director of the Association of Ship Consignees and Port Companies of Malaga) and César L. Cegarra (President of CEAMAR), as well as representatives of major logistics and rail companies. The event highlighted the challenges facing the logistics park, which will be operational in 2026.
It was followed by a tour of the site, which enabled participants to see the current infrastructure and the first stages of its development. Puerto Seco de Antequera, as a natural extension of the ports of Malaga and Algeciras, meets a crucial strategic need: to support the growth of the logistics industry, particularly in the management of fresh and perishable products. The aim is to create an intermodal logistics platform that will better connect the region’s ports with rail transport networks.

A BENCHMARK LOGISTICS PARK IN THE HEART OF ANDALUSIA
Puerto Seco de Antequera is strategically located at the crossroads of several major routes in southern Spain, offering direct rail connections to the ports of Malaga and Algeciras. The project stands out for its ability to meet the challenges of intermodal logistics, with infrastructures that facilitate the optimization of sustainable freight transport. Thanks to these connections, the site will offer an alternative to road transport, helping to reduce the region’s carbon footprint.
IDEC GROUP IBERICA : 25 YEARS OF EXPERTISE FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
With over 25 years’ experience in cold management, including tri-temperature, IDEC GROUP IBERICA is proud to be leading this project. The site will benefit from our advanced refrigeration solutions, which will guarantee the proper preservation of fresh produce, as well as from green, renewable energy generated in the park itself, ensuring the sustainability of the project. These innovations respond to the growing demand from companies for environmentally-friendly logistics.
In collaboration with Ontime Logistics, which will install 20,000 m² of refrigerated warehousing by 2026, Puerto Seco de Antequera will become one of the largest logistics centers in the region, reinforcing Andalusia’s strategic role in the logistics sector in southern Spain. This project is a real driver of economic growth and innovation for the region.
We are proud to see that this project, which was initiated over 20 years ago, is now in full development phase, thanks to the collaboration with the Junta de Andalucía, the municipality of Antequera and all the regional partners. Together, we are making the Puerto Seco de Antequera a key player in Andalusia’s economic and logistics development.
