Puerto Seco de Antequera was a key participant in the entrepreneurial synergies event held on June 17 at Málaga TechPark. Co-organized by the City of Antequera and the technology park, the event brought together more than 50 companies with a shared objective: to foster new collaboration opportunities and support economic development in Andalusia.
On this occasion, GROUPE IDEC teams, represented by Paul Lafargue, Director of European Development, and Maite Palomino, Head of Business Development in Spain, showcased the strengths and future prospects of Puerto Seco de Antequera. Now recognized as one of the leading logistics and industrial platforms in Southern Europe, this strategic project is attracting growing interest from both economic and institutional stakeholders.
Participation in this event enabled Puerto Seco de Antequera to strengthen its ties with one of Spain’s most dynamic technological and economic ecosystems. It also facilitated the creation of new connections between the innovation, industrial, and logistics sectors, reinforcing the synergies essential for the development of high value-added projects.
Strategically located at the intersection of the Atlantic and Mediterranean rail corridors and connected to the main ports in southern Spain, Puerto Seco de Antequera represents a major opportunity for industrial and logistics developments. The project is fully integrated into major European logistics flows and contributes to structuring trade across the continent.
Operational development is already underway, with construction having started on the first two warehouses for Grupo Dia and Ontime. With respective surface areas of 65,000 sqm and 35,000 sqm, these initial developments reflect the project’s strong momentum, with delivery scheduled for June 2027.
The event also saw strong institutional engagement. The official opening brought together Manolo Barón, Mayor of Antequera; Felipe Romera, General Director of Málaga TechPark; and Antonio García Acedo, Regional Delegate for Economy, Finance and European Funds, as well as Industry, Energy and Mines for the Junta de Andalucía. All highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between territories, businesses and institutions to drive economic growth and regional competitiveness.
In addition, a roundtable dedicated to innovation, technology transfer and investment attraction gathered representatives from the business, technology and academic sectors. Discussions highlighted the key challenges and opportunities shaping the future of Andalusia’s economy.
By strengthening its relationship with Málaga TechPark, Puerto Seco de Antequera reinforces its positioning as a strategic project for attracting investment and developing new industrial and logistics activities. Its ability to integrate with the country’s leading innovation ecosystems represents a key driver for its continued growth.
Today, the project continues to progress with the arrival of new companies and the consolidation of its role as a leading logistics hub. With more than 300 hectares dedicated to industrial and logistics activities and a prime location in the heart of Andalusia, Puerto Seco de Antequera aims to become a major engine for economic growth, attractiveness and job creation in the region.
The Málaga TechPark event further confirmed the growing interest from companies and investors in this large-scale project, a true convergence point between logistics, industry and innovation serving Andalusia’s economic development. It also highlighted the strong interest of local stakeholders in the Group’s solutions and reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating its development in Spain through strategic partnerships and new investment opportunities.
